We have all heard that the sky has always inspired artists, poets and writers. We have read the beautiful descriptions in their works and admired the allure of the azure blue sky. I have heard of tales where people have survived in dull and dreary environments just by visualising a clear blue sky and a bright sun giving them energy.

Whether it is the endless blue canopy above our head or the enchanting night sky, I am certain that all of us have been in awe of the sky. I have looked to the sky very often for inspiration. The azure blue always captivates me and fills me with optimism. Here is a poem in which I have tried to capture the myriad ways in which the sky inspires us. Hope you like it!

Message From The Sky

Look at the sky, it’s so blue.
It seems to be saying something to me and you.

As dawn breaks,
the Eastern sky turns to gold.
It holds forth the promise of
great events set to unfold.

When the sky is bright and clear,
it fills us with hope.
  It tells us that no matter how tough the going,
we can still cope.

When there is a storm in the offing,
the sky turns grey.
It seems to say,
bad times will not forever stay.

Dark clouds will gather
and there will be rain.
When that’s done,
the sun will shine again!

Remember that come what may,
tomorrow will be a new day,
A day that holds forth the promise of a great life,
a better world with less strife.

God has given each one of us
a canvas as limitless as the sky.
Go paint it with colors of the rainbow
and take your life to a new high!
